Mark N. Kaplan has been a member of Skadden’s Corporate Finance Group for nearly 35 years. He has represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including negotiated mergers, acquisitions and leveraged buyouts, and public and private securities offerings. His work encompasses a wide range of industries including defense, energy, finance, retail and fashion.
He has represented clients such as DRS Technologies, Inc. in its acquisition by Finmeccanica S.p.A.; 390 West End Associates LLC in its sale of the Apthorp apartment building in Manhattan; Energy Answers Corporation in the sale of its subsidiary, EAC Operations, Inc., to Covanta Holding Corporation; and Pantone, Inc. in its acquisition by X-Rite Incorporated.
Before joining Skadden, Mr. Kaplan spent two years serving as president and chief operating officer of Engelhard Minerals & Chemicals Corporation and seven years as president and chief executive officer of Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. He serves as director of American Biltrite Inc., Volt Information Sciences, Inc. and The Jim Pattison Group, among others.
Mr. Kaplan is a member of the IIE Board of Trustees and serves on the Board's Scholar Rescue Committee.
